The SSMRV PU College started functioning as an independent entity from 1 April 2002. The college offers the following subjects in the science stream – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, with Biology, Electronics, or Computer Science to be taken up as an optional subject. In the commerce stream, the following are offered – Statistics, Business Studies and Accountancy with the option of taking up Economics,Computer Science, Mathematics, or Political Science as optional subjects. The languages we offer are English, Kannada, Hindi, and Sanskrit.

A well – stocked library caters to the academic and intellectual requirements of students of all disciplines. It is replenished every year with subjects books, magazines and journals related to current affairs for reference.
Spacious, well – ventilated lecture halls accommodating more than 100 students create a learner – friendly, conducive atmosphere.
A well – laid out quadrangle is used to conduct the various activities of the college.
The two spacious seminar halls which can accommodate around 200 students, have good audiovisual facilities with projectors and other teaching aides, to complement class room lectures.
Laboratories Basic Sciences
Up–to–date, well–equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology permit EVERY student to carry out experiments individually. Ever laboratory has uninterrupted power supply ensuring regular and smooth functioning of the labs.
The computer science laboratory is well – equipped with cutting- edge technology. The lab has been networked with advanced, configured systems and sufficient back – up facility. The college provides individual systems to every student.
This laboratory is well- equipped to motivate every student to learn and experiment. Every student has the opportunity to do experiments individually under the guidance of the dedicated staff.
CAREER GUIDANCE & COUNSELLING
Sessions are held to help and guide students in choosing a career to suit their aptitudes. Counseling is given to needy students.
PARENT – TEACHER INTERACTION
Every class is monitored by two capable and empathetic teachers. The class teachers play an important role in a student’s performance review. A parent – teacher meeting is organized in the month of October to intimate the parents about their concerned class teachers to enquire about the attendance and marks.
GIRLS COMMON ROOM
Girls can avail the facilities of the Girls Common Room whenever required.
Adequate and secure parking facilities are available for the faculty and students.
Students may purchase the stationeries and books required at the CAMPUS BOOK SHOP in the basement.
Students can use the canteen in the basement for breakfast, lunch & other refreshments.
